NYE must: urban decay marshmallow

I have been preparing for tonight all day from nails to outfit planning and I was thinking.. what is one beauty product that I mostly only use on nye?? and it hit me... Urban Decay Marshmallow lickable body shimmer powder!! I'm not really one to wear shimmer body powder all the time but on new years everything needs to sparkle! This powder is awesome! it comes with a big soft fluffy powder puff too! it's a finely milled product that easily blends into skin and gives you just the right glow, not too glittery just perfectly luminous and classy. OH YEAH and I also must mention... it tastes like marshmallows. which is fun ;D

shimmer on dolls! Have an amazing safe NYE! xoxo

diy holiday cranberry face mask

It's almost here! christmas y'all! The holidays can be stressful, especially these next couple days leading up to christmas, everyone is running around trying to do last minute shopping and finish up their work for the year. So what better time to share with you a new do it yourself, homemade face mask that will cleanse, exfoliate and give you that natural fresh glow! Cranberries are awesome power fruits for the skin because they are packed with antioxidants. So go whip up this easy mask, sit back with a cup of cider and drink in the holidays, for they only come but once a year ;)

6 tablespoons of fresh cranberries boiled for 5 minutes or 5 tablespoons of 100% cranberry juice
3 tablespoons of plain greek yogurt (get the full fat or 2%)
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon of honey

blend everything together, cleanse face, apply a steam towel to face, apply mask to face and wait 15-20 to rinse off. then moisturize your face!

bring to a boil ;)

happy holidays dolls! and remember, tis the season to be jolly ;D

Aveda Faves

Hello y'all! so sorry I've been so m.i.a. lately, just been busy, distracted and all that. lol. I felt like it was high time for a good product review and since I went to an aveda school for esthetics, I have pretty much tried all of their products and let me tell you, there are a bunch that I'm addicted to and can't live without!! So I'm going to narrow it down to my absolute favorites! One great and important benefit to using aveda products is that they are natural and organically sourced in a way that respects and preserves our earth, which is critical!!

this rosemary mint body lotion is so amazing! it's tingly and cool feeling on the skin which is super relaxing to me, i love it after a workout! it's the perfect consistency and sinks right into skin!

scalp benefits shampoo is an addiction of mine! love the woodsey scent but even more than that I love how it nurtures my scalp and gets my hair clean & shiney but not stripped. love love love

liquid exfoliant is an amzing product that you can swipe over your face after cleansing or even blend into your face masks. It removes dead skin cells and makes you all clear & glowy! what's not to love!

control force hairspray is a must in my life! I use this hairspray last, after everything is styled and set and it locks the style into place for hours.

air control hairspray is great for flexible hold during styling. love to spray this on before and during curling my hair. It's great for layering!

under my sink... can you tell I'm obsessed. lol

Review Time: Sebastian Haul

Recently I was in the market for a new haircare/ styling line and since I had heard good things about the Sebastian Volupt volumizing line I decided to give it a try. Luckily, since I am a salon professional I was able to get everything at wholesale cost because the products tend to be a bit pricey. Thanks cosmoprof!! :)  I am totally new to sebastian products even though I know it is an established well loved salon line that so many people recommend and have been using for years. They have recently completely over hauled all of their hair lines and re packaged everything in really attractive, sleek bottles which I love.

Anyway, onto the review. I am totally loving pretty much all of the products I bought! The volupt shampoo and conditioner are my go to's for when I know I'm going out and want my hair to have that extra oomph! The shampoo really gives my hair natural lift without making it look poufy and strange like some volumizers do. And the conditioner is light but still moisturizing. I wouldn't use the conditioner everyday because most days I would want something richer and more hydrating. I also picked up the volupt spray and matte styling putty. I love both of them! The spray is awesome and I apply it all over my hair while it's still damp before blow drying. And the putty is great for when I want to tame or give my hair a piecy look. Another Sebastian product that I purchased is the color ignite multi tone shampoo for hair with high or lowlights. It makes my hair color look so bright, shiney and awesome. I got so many compliments and positive feedback on my color literally right after I used it. Everyone kept asking me if I got more highlights! All in all I'm loving the line, I don't see myself stopping using these any time soon :)

Katy in Plastic

Katy Perry update time! here are scans from the Plastic Dreams magazine Spring/Summer 2011 issue featuring Katy on the cover. This Brazilian magazine (released last year in Brazil) was reprinted and given away as a free insert with issues of V-Magazine #71 (with Lady Gaga on the cover). I'm loving this photoshoot and thought these images of Katy were just too beautiful not to share! Hope you enjoy them :D

favsies!

This image is not from that shoot but I love it anyway. It's powerful and visually stunning. Katy power! plus, I myself am a California dreamer ;)

wondrous waves

The perfect look for a night out or everyday. This may seem like common knowledge but I'm sure someone out there would like some tips for getting the perfect mermaid wavey curls! This style is also often referred to as the "s" curl.

- hairspray is your best friend for creating long lasting beautiful curls. spray each curl!

- use a volumizing mousse or spray before blow drying your hair like Big Sexy Hair's root pump or I'm also loving the volupt spray by Sebastian.

- backcomb at the roots after curling the hair

- mist on a light shine spray

here's an awesome tutorial by AllThatGlitters21. one of my favorite gurus.

me rockin the 2 day curls :D

I use the Hot Tools Black & White Nano Ceramic 1" Tapered Cone Styling Iron

(i don't use the glove, no need for that)

MUFE Aqua Lip

This is bar none my total HG lip liner. I've said it before and I'll say it again, all makeup is not created equally. The more expensive professional stuff like makeup forever is truly amazing because it works and it lasts forever. I wore the red on halloween last year and it lasted all night at a sweaty, crazy electronic music festival. yup, no joke. It creates a perfect line that doesn't smudge and the color selection is bold and bright! You can even wear this as a total lip color without lip stick if you fill in the entire lip. I can't say enough great things about this product. I heart MUFE <3

aye aye captain. wearing 8C.

jersey shore makeovers

okay so it's time to come clean. I've seen every single episode of jersey shore since the very first day it premiered. Whatevs it's totally funny and tradge at the same time. plus I love snooki. Anyway, the casts looks are morphing as the days go by.  The first thing I noticed when watching the new season were the plastic surgery makeovers. Hollywood got its hands on them, I knew it was only a matter of time. All of the girls have gotten some kind of lip enhancement, most likely fillers and lost a bunch of weight. I'm not sure they look better but I mean anything is an improvement. lol. there isn't really anything to say about the guys, they look just as awful as they did on day one. ok so here's my wrap up!

BEFORE:

 AFTER:
lost lots of weight, major lip injections or implants. still has the wonky bad fake boobs though.

she looks good here. not a bombshell but big improvement.

snooki looks great. her body is rockin. no detectable surgeries as of yet.

 BEFORE:

AFTER:
deena definitely had her nose done. before her profile was over projected.

yikes! lol!

another hair change for Katy!

Now this is a hair color I can get behind! My favorite, P!NK of course ;) Being the Katy Perry fan that I am I feel that I need to post an update each time she changes her hair color or looks particularly cute! I love bright colored hair it's so fun! If I wasn't trying to be an actor I'd have crazy colored hair myself. Even though Katy is kinda bumming it around town she still looks cute and effortless in an everyday running errands kinda way.

coconut water: healthy do or don't?

Coconut water seems to be really popular these days with so many celebrities talking about it and it's awesome health benefits. Which left me wondering how great is it really for the skin and what specifically are the benefits to drinking it? So I did a little research for myself. I found a few websites citing Dr. Perricone, who is basically the god of skincare. According to Perricone, "It's rich in mineral salts and is the ideal antidote to parched, stressed skin. Coconut water rehydrates while normalizing combination skin and is anti-microbial and anti-fungal, which will give you a radiant, clean, and clear complexion." Apparently coconut water is also great for workouts. It's rich in minerals and electrolytes that may be lost during a workout. It's basically like the best possible replacement for a regular sports drink. So I say drink up, but be sure not replace your regular water intake with coconut water. Regular water is very essential to a healthy functioning body.  So do you love coconut water as much as the celebs?? I remember having it in the Dominican Republic after a long horseback ride. It was yummy and very refreshing and replenishing! Thumbs up!

riri loves some coconut water!

Have a wonderful healthy day dolls!!

Review Time: Urban Decay 24-7 waterproof liquid eyeliner

Looking for the perfect long lasting liquid liner? Your search officially ends here. Why do I do so many urban decay reviews... because their stuff is awesome. no joke. They don't do animal testing and the products are vegan as well which is super important. And these new liquid liners are completely amazing! The applicator is a really skinny brush that glides on seamlessly with no tugging of the eyelid. The colors are metallic with a hint of eye catching sheen and are very pigmented. I got the siren color which is a bright yet deep teal color. I'm loving it, can't wait to wear it out! If the idea of wearing a colored eye liner scares you a bit you can put on regular black under it and on the lower lid to anchor it and still achieve a sultry look.

On another note I would like to encourage anyone who reads this blog to go and become a member :) I'm going to start doing free give aways of some of the products I review and to be able to win you must be a google member of my site. It's the box on the right, it's easy and fast all you need is a google acct!

Happy make-upping dolls!!!

lol ;)

Review Time: Urban Decay Cannonball

I had been hearing quite a bit of buzz surrounding urban decay's new completely waterproof mascara so naturally I ran to my local ulta and picked one up! A devoted, long time fan of urban decay somehow I had never tried the line's mascaras and I didn't really know what to expect.  Overall I think it's a good product, it really does stay on all day even at the pool! I haven't tested it at the beach yet so I can't say how it would react with salt water but I think it would still hold up pretty well. The only negative about this product is that it doesn't add much volume or thickness to lashes. I like a really thick mascara because my lashes are so long already that I don't focus on adding length. But this one does separate and lengthen so if that's what you're after, give cannonball a try. By the end of the day when it's time to remove your makeup you'll notice that this stuff doesn't want to come off! soak a cotton round in remover and let it sit on the lid for about a minute, be careful not to rub your eye just let the remover do it's work on it's own and soak in.

Katy Perry goes blonde!

I am probably one of the biggest Katy Perry fans there is! I own all of her merchandise from the perfume to the albums. I just find her incredibly hot and so cute! But I never saw this hair color change coming. I think it looks pretty good but I definitely prefer her as a brunette.  As a brunette her look was more classic and retro pin up to me. I think the makeup is a little blue for my taste in this particular look. I do however, love the dress, how festive and kitschy! love love love!  what do you think about the new look???

muahhh! xoxox thnx for reading dolls!
