NYE must: urban decay marshmallow

I have been preparing for tonight all day from nails to outfit planning and I was thinking.. what is one beauty product that I mostly only use on nye?? and it hit me... Urban Decay Marshmallow lickable body shimmer powder!! I'm not really one to wear shimmer body powder all the time but on new years everything needs to sparkle! This powder is awesome! it comes with a big soft fluffy powder puff too! it's a finely milled product that easily blends into skin and gives you just the right glow, not too glittery just perfectly luminous and classy. OH YEAH and I also must mention... it tastes like marshmallows. which is fun ;D

shimmer on dolls! Have an amazing safe NYE! xoxo

Aveda Faves

Hello y'all! so sorry I've been so m.i.a. lately, just been busy, distracted and all that. lol. I felt like it was high time for a good product review and since I went to an aveda school for esthetics, I have pretty much tried all of their products and let me tell you, there are a bunch that I'm addicted to and can't live without!! So I'm going to narrow it down to my absolute favorites! One great and important benefit to using aveda products is that they are natural and organically sourced in a way that respects and preserves our earth, which is critical!!

this rosemary mint body lotion is so amazing! it's tingly and cool feeling on the skin which is super relaxing to me, i love it after a workout! it's the perfect consistency and sinks right into skin!

scalp benefits shampoo is an addiction of mine! love the woodsey scent but even more than that I love how it nurtures my scalp and gets my hair clean & shiney but not stripped. love love love

liquid exfoliant is an amzing product that you can swipe over your face after cleansing or even blend into your face masks. It removes dead skin cells and makes you all clear & glowy! what's not to love!

control force hairspray is a must in my life! I use this hairspray last, after everything is styled and set and it locks the style into place for hours.

air control hairspray is great for flexible hold during styling. love to spray this on before and during curling my hair. It's great for layering!

under my sink... can you tell I'm obsessed. lol

Obsession: b&b works fall collection candles are here!!!

I love fall! It's my favorite time of year besides Christmas. My birthday is in the fall, there's halloween, the perfect weather, pretty leaves changing. What's not to love?! I also love the bath & body works slatkin and co candles! I'm sure you've used these candles or at least heard all the hype about them since they are so popular in the youtube beauty community.  But I'm extra excited about the fall collection being out! yesterday I picked up my favorite fall candle of all time, the LEAVES candle! It smells like honey, spices and cider. so warm and cozy. I also grabbed the cinnamon stick candle and something tells me I'll be back for a few more scents soon. Make sure to stock up on the scents you love because they discontinue them every season and only bring select ones back.  The candles retail for $20 which seems a little pricey but that's actually a normal price for candles these days. I like to look for the sales too since I burn through them kind of quickly.

quick tip: when you use up the candle you can clean it out, remove the label and use it as a storage container!

this one was one of my faves! so yummy!

Review Time: Sebastian Haul

Recently I was in the market for a new haircare/ styling line and since I had heard good things about the Sebastian Volupt volumizing line I decided to give it a try. Luckily, since I am a salon professional I was able to get everything at wholesale cost because the products tend to be a bit pricey. Thanks cosmoprof!! :)  I am totally new to sebastian products even though I know it is an established well loved salon line that so many people recommend and have been using for years. They have recently completely over hauled all of their hair lines and re packaged everything in really attractive, sleek bottles which I love.

Anyway, onto the review. I am totally loving pretty much all of the products I bought! The volupt shampoo and conditioner are my go to's for when I know I'm going out and want my hair to have that extra oomph! The shampoo really gives my hair natural lift without making it look poufy and strange like some volumizers do. And the conditioner is light but still moisturizing. I wouldn't use the conditioner everyday because most days I would want something richer and more hydrating. I also picked up the volupt spray and matte styling putty. I love both of them! The spray is awesome and I apply it all over my hair while it's still damp before blow drying. And the putty is great for when I want to tame or give my hair a piecy look. Another Sebastian product that I purchased is the color ignite multi tone shampoo for hair with high or lowlights. It makes my hair color look so bright, shiney and awesome. I got so many compliments and positive feedback on my color literally right after I used it. Everyone kept asking me if I got more highlights! All in all I'm loving the line, I don't see myself stopping using these any time soon :)

MUFE Aqua Lip

This is bar none my total HG lip liner. I've said it before and I'll say it again, all makeup is not created equally. The more expensive professional stuff like makeup forever is truly amazing because it works and it lasts forever. I wore the red on halloween last year and it lasted all night at a sweaty, crazy electronic music festival. yup, no joke. It creates a perfect line that doesn't smudge and the color selection is bold and bright! You can even wear this as a total lip color without lip stick if you fill in the entire lip. I can't say enough great things about this product. I heart MUFE <3

aye aye captain. wearing 8C.

Review Time: Urban Decay 24-7 waterproof liquid eyeliner

Looking for the perfect long lasting liquid liner? Your search officially ends here. Why do I do so many urban decay reviews... because their stuff is awesome. no joke. They don't do animal testing and the products are vegan as well which is super important. And these new liquid liners are completely amazing! The applicator is a really skinny brush that glides on seamlessly with no tugging of the eyelid. The colors are metallic with a hint of eye catching sheen and are very pigmented. I got the siren color which is a bright yet deep teal color. I'm loving it, can't wait to wear it out! If the idea of wearing a colored eye liner scares you a bit you can put on regular black under it and on the lower lid to anchor it and still achieve a sultry look.

On another note I would like to encourage anyone who reads this blog to go and become a member :) I'm going to start doing free give aways of some of the products I review and to be able to win you must be a google member of my site. It's the box on the right, it's easy and fast all you need is a google acct!

Happy make-upping dolls!!!

lol ;)

Review Time: Urban Decay Cannonball

I had been hearing quite a bit of buzz surrounding urban decay's new completely waterproof mascara so naturally I ran to my local ulta and picked one up! A devoted, long time fan of urban decay somehow I had never tried the line's mascaras and I didn't really know what to expect.  Overall I think it's a good product, it really does stay on all day even at the pool! I haven't tested it at the beach yet so I can't say how it would react with salt water but I think it would still hold up pretty well. The only negative about this product is that it doesn't add much volume or thickness to lashes. I like a really thick mascara because my lashes are so long already that I don't focus on adding length. But this one does separate and lengthen so if that's what you're after, give cannonball a try. By the end of the day when it's time to remove your makeup you'll notice that this stuff doesn't want to come off! soak a cotton round in remover and let it sit on the lid for about a minute, be careful not to rub your eye just let the remover do it's work on it's own and soak in.

My Oscar Faves

Wow is all I can say about the styles at the Academy Awards last night!  I almost feel like this was one of the best looking red carpets that I've seen in a while. There were gorgeous jewel tones, shimmer & sparkles galore and beautiful fresh makeup and hair looks. My favorite part of an awards show is always the red carpet, I love seeing the celebrities awkwardly mix with one another and just parade around. It's a sight to see for sure.

So now I'm going to break down my favorite looks from last night in no particular order. Mind you, I definitely do not always agree with the critics and the press about who was best dressed ect.

Love the purple! Looks amaze!

ScarJo's might be my favorite dress of the night. so on trend and sexy! love!

You can't go wrong with Jennifer Lawrence in this simple red stunner!

wow! Jennifer Hudson looks sensational! her body is rockin!

I love this clean, almost futuristic look it's so Cate Blanchet.

awesome press shot of america's sweetheart, the gorgeous Sandy Bullock!

Charlize Theron's dress is different and yet simple.

I'm not a Gweneth fan, I find her unrelatable...But this dress is awesome! super classy! oh yeah, & body by tracy anderson..*wink wink!

This was just incredible, I love the soft layers of fabric and beautiful beading. Halle always gets it right!

I loved this look! It's so julia Roberts! But Reese really rocks it well. pretty pretty princess!

some of my not so favorite gowns were:
(not posting pics for these b/c I'd rather focus on what i did like)

-Nicole Kidman: it looked kinda david's bridal-ish
-Zooey Deschanel: too 60's not so cute for this show.
-Emma Stone: huh? I'm wondering if she has a stylist? not good.
-Amy Adams: too las vegas for this awards show.

thanks for reading dolls!! xoxox
