Today I have been thinking about my relationship with clothes and the meaning of fashion. Deep & meaningful thoughts, I know! I have arrived at the conclusion that I am indeed NOT a fashionista. Big shock right! I love clothes and I love styling but I don't understand trends for the sake of trends. And I don't entirely understand high fashion. I find it somewhat ridiculous. But you know what I do love? Costumes. Yes, I love that I can put on an outfit and it totally transforms the way I feel about myself and my attitude. For me there is nothing better than clothes from the late 50's and early 60's. Somewhere right in between retro and mod. I enjoy putting together a whole look including makeup and hair to match. I'm a vintage girl, from my bouffant hair to my peep-toe pumps! After all I did read a biography on Jackie Kennedy Onassis at age 12, true fact! But I also love to play with different looks. I remember wearing some of my grandmothers hand-me downs in middle school as well...haha. If it's colorful, cutesy, or themed chances are I'm going to be into it. And that's why I could never be a fashionista. Because I don't really care to look cool. Its just me!
These are some of my fashion icons:
miss katy perry in all her glittering glory! LOVE!
I always dreamed that this would be my prom dress. srsly.
I have always loved Holly Madison's playful & sexy style!
*wow, I just noticed that all of these were pink. coincidence or destiny?!
