One topic that will never get old in hollywood and in our day to day lives, especially as women, is the weight topic. How much is too much to gain or to lose? What does beautiful look like on me and on you? And where do we get our ideas of what the ideal body is anyway? Sure, there was a time when I never ever thought about dieting or my body. That time ended around when I turned 16. But we naturally gain weight with maturity and yeah sometimes we develop eating habits to cope emotionally or whatever. Either way, we (most of us) gain weight eventually or we fight it at all costs. However, society (American) wants us to still be our prepubescent tiny rail-like selves in more ways than one.
We are flooded with images all of the time that show us what beautiful is. All of the time. We all know this. duh, the impact of media is significant. But I just don't feel like people question it enough. Men don't question it enough, and women don't question it enough. Women's weight is not just a women's issue though, to me it is also a men's issue because men put pressure on women. It's just a fact. And it's a social issue that is deep, messy and I could talk about it for pages, but I don't want to bore you.
You've heard this before, but it always bears the need for repeating... BE HEALTHY! You know what that means (I'm assuming)... eat a balanced diet, take vitamins, exercise, don't drink a lot and don't smoke or do drugs. Yup there yah go! Be emotionally healthy too! Don't gorge yourself on tabloid magazines and hate yourself for not looking like what you see. (I'm superrr guilty of this one!) Remember: You are beautiful at your happy weight!!
So now I'm going to take a minute and *question* the images below.

this is my wtf moment. an emaciated u.o. model telling me what to do. nope.

the beautiful, curvy, christina hendricks from mad men. ppl like to make a big deal out of the fact that she is a fuller figured woman in hollywood when in reality she's a normal size. She looks awesome!

oh angie, you're gorgeous but you're too frail. this is not what healthy looks like.

sophia bush looking ravishing on the red carpet. thumbs up!

The girls of the new 90210. jessica on the left is thin, and looks great but anna lynn on the
right is scary skinny. this is not okay. she continues to shrink every time she makes an appearance lately.
disclaimer: I'm not the authority on weight. not a dietician. but this is my blog and these are my opinions so please respect that.
also, I hope no one is confused by my post about the barbies previously. On the record: barbie's measurements are ridiculous and she is in no way near what a normal woman should look like. If she was a real woman proportionately, she would tip over.
